Active citizenship training sessions addressing the Greek teaching community: The project is a continuation of the project
‘School communities protect the climate’ and was implemented as a means for the dissemination of the educational material and the positive outcomes it promotes within the Greek school community.
Aim: The promotion of the development of an environmentally and socially sustainable school that operates within a democratic culture, in accordance with the principles of sustainability and active social participation.
Objectives:

raise awareness and provide training for educators and the wider school community on issues related to environmental and social sustainability

support teachers in developing a participatory and experiential educational methodology in environmental and human rights related projects

raising environmental awareness and encouraging a shift towards more sustainable attitudes among members of the school community.

strengthening the school community’s engagement with civil society
Activities
-
realisation on one online informative session regarding the educational program (educational toolkit + workshops) addressing the Greek teaching community.

development of two educational training workshops on social and environmental sustainability, based on the educational material from the project “School Communities Protect the Climate”.

implementation of two experiential training workshops addressing school teachers of primary schools, secondary schools and lyceums, each with a duration of 6 hours.

communication and dissemination of the activity through articles highlighting the importance of the partnership’s initiative emphasizing on the contribution of the Environmental Education Centre KEPEA Eleftherio-Kordelio in promoting environmental education.
