ANTIGONI – Information and Documentation Center on Racism, Ecology, Peace and Non-Violence, launched the innovative program “From Me to Us… and Our World “ in collaboration with the Voluntary Youth Counseling Center of the Municipality in the Thermaikos Municipality.
Aim:
The aim of the action is to use educational drama, and other forms of expression through art such as theatrical representation and music, to empower students on promoting equality, accepting diversity, enhancing peaceful conflict management, and strengthening knowledge for a sustainable environment.
Objectives:
α) informing and raising awareness on issues of rights, social and environmental justice,
(b) Promotion of equality, respect and acceptance of diversity,
(c) Promoting positive attitudes towards the peaceful resolution of conflicts,
(d) highlighting the importance of art in approaching social and environmental awareness-raising activities; and
(e) Communication between the school community and the wider society.
Activities:
- workshops with students of the Mediation Group of the 3rd High School of Thermi to create narratives that examine conflicts, their causes and methods of peaceful management.
- workshops with young people up to 18 years old with the collaboration of the Krousmata – group of the Voluntary Youth Counselling Centre, who will elaborate the narratives and create a theatrical performance to be presented in December.
