Our volunteers were trained to become trainers themselves. Because, a greek proverb says “with the teacher that you are learning, such letters you will learn”!
What is better than to participate in activities about diversity and tolerance, from being your trainer the same person who has experienced discrimination?
The Youth Task Force Group of the project "Youth is Tolerance" sit at the desks (although most are still students) and without books, learned the ways we process ideas and create reflection environment in groups of students through educational tools that EU proposes.
The new way of learning is a fact. Interactivity, colours, move, games, group discussions, without books and rules, with young animators who suffered discrimination because of colour or identity.
Efthimis has Down syndrome, Maté is congenitally deaf, George, Dimitris and Christos are Roma.
In collaboration with the school communities of the city, within the frameworks of the project “Schools for Change”, that ANTIGONE implements for third consecutive year in kinder-gardens, elementary, secondary and high schools, our volunteers after their education, entered the ranks and created!
Students at the beginning facing the animators with hesitation, but the games and the pleasant conversation raise questions and concern, always with a positive impact on social inclusion of young people.
