Activities of ANTIGONE

  1. Conduction of recreational activities addressed mainly to youth and young adults, aiming to support the social life of refugees living in Diavata Camp and further to promote their creative skills, teach them some basic rules that would give them a framework for their peaceful coexistence in the camp. 2. Organization of 20 socio-cultural events as part of an attempt to promote social dialogue between the local community and the refugees and further to build stronger bonds between the two cultures, improving also their interaction.
  3. Psychological support to new arriving refugees through activities aiming to address loss, death or grief and trauma, while support the mental resilience of children and further eventually address certain circumstances relating to isolated women.
  4. Psychological support to volunteers who help within the refugee camps so that the volunteers are well prepared to efficiently work with the refugees.
  5. Development of an internet platform in English and Arabic so that refugees in Diavata have access to transparent information with respect to the situation back in their countries as well as other issues of their interest.
  6. Training seminars addressed to intercultural mediators in order to enable and further improve their communication (as well as the communication on the part of the camp personnel) with the refugees.
