The need for more accurate information and less discrimination in the media is more urgent than ever.
Across Europe, people who do not fit into the “standards” imposed by racist and xenophobic narratives continue to be excluded — not only from public discourse but also from the opportunity to tell their own stories.
The MILD – More Information, Less Discrimination project brings together organizations from Greece, Italy, Malta, and Spain with a shared goal:
To promote fair and unbiased journalism and to amplify the voices of racialized people in the media.
After three months of research and interviews with journalists and activists, several key findings have emerged:
- Lack of representation of racialized people in mainstream media.
- Linguistic and socio-economic barriers to accessing the profession.
- Repetitive negative narratives targeting migrants and minorities.
The MILD partners met in Malta in September to bring together their findings and prepare four National Reports, which will be published in December 2025.
Stay tuned — we will soon share more results, stories, and actions that promote visibility, inclusion, and fair reporting.
