NIEM – 17th meeting: Aspects of professional and housing integration of refugees

The non-profit organization “ANTIGONE – Information and Documentation Center for Racism, Ecology, Peace and Non-Violence” (ANTIGONE) invites you to participate in the 17th meeting of the alliance under the program ‘National Integration and Evaluation Mechanism’ (NIEM) with the topic: “Aspects of professional and housing integration of refugees and asylum seekers all over Greece”.

 

NIEM is a program that aims to measure, evaluate and monitor the integration of populations under international protection in 16 EU countries. Following a relevant research in Greece, a National Report was prepared on the implementation of integration policies in various sectors. At the specific alliance meeting, the findings of the research on the social inclusion of the beneficiaries of international protection in Greece will be briefly presented. This will be followed by speeches on the effects of the pandemic on Greek refugees.

19:05 – 19:15 ” Indicators of occupational and housing integration of beneficiaries of international protection based on the collection of material for the NIEM National Report” (speaker is the colleague of ANTIGONE and lawyer Ms. Vasiliki Karzi)

 

19:15 -19:25 – Presentation 1: “Documentation in the formulation of integration policies” (speaker: Mr George Sarelakos, Project Manager in the City Network for Integration / Coordination Center for Immigrant and Refugee Issues)

 

19:25-19:35 – Presentation 2:  “ ESTIA and HELIOS: the implementation of the two programs by the Municipality of Livadeia”: (speakers : Mr. George Kalambokas, Project Manager for the “ESTIA” Program, and Ms. Triantaphyllia Krikou as Project Coordinator for the “HELIOS” Program).

 

19:35-19:45 – Presentation 3: “The integration of asylum seekers and refugees in a small Greek provincial town. The example of Tripoli)” (speaker: Mr Dimitris Koliniotis, Director of Social Cohesion Policies and Program Manager of ESTIA of “Development Parnonas SA. -Development Organization of Local Government”).

 

19:45-19:55 – Presentation 4: “Actions for the integration of immigrants and refugees in the local community. The example of the Municipality of Larissa” (speaker: Field Coordinator of the “ESTIA 2021” Program).

 

19:55 -20:05 – Presentation 5: “Employment opportunities for refugees in the countryside. The case of Karditsa” (speaker: Mr Vassilis Mpellis, General Manager of Development Karditsa SA – Development Organization of Local Government “AN.KAE”).

 

20:05-20:15 – Presentation 6: “The bet of integration in Piraus city” (speaker: Mr Nikitas Kanakis, Director of Social Structures of the Municipal Enterprise of Public Benefit of Piraeus city “KODEP”).
