Passaggi, trasmettere i diritti umani tramite l’educazione non formale
During the implementation of the EVS, the young volunteer organized and carried out many different kinds of activities, from classes based on non formal education methods about human rights and fundamental freedom, mainly for a target group of student of Greek schools, to basic notions about project management. Moreover, she cooperated in the networking activities of the hosting organization with other local partners (Heinrich Boell Foundation, Antiracist Festival of Thessaloniki, Parathinoupoli) and in the frame of Thessaloniki Youth capital 2014. Finally she will had the possibility to practice English and Greek.
The Service has been organized by the Italian sending and coordinating organization UniTS – Università del Terzo Settore and the Greek hosting organization ANTIGONE – Information and Documentation Centre on Racism, Ecology, Peace and Non-Violence. The Service took place in Thessaloniki and last 11 months, from June 2013 to April 2014.
The experience will be highly valuable and rewarding for the young volunteer. She will have the possibility to live abroad, fully enjoying her rights as European citizen. She will experiment indipendence, that will allow her to grow both as a professional and as a person. Finally she will get close to another culture and environment, opening her mind and making her used to and intercultural and cohesive society. The positive impact of the European Voluntary Service will be clear once the volunteer will be back in Italy as she will be a constructive multiplier of the values of human rights, respect, and cohesive society the European Union is funded on.
